I really wanted to like Rose George https://twitter.com/rosegeorge3 more than I do because I encountered her through this brilliant and gloriously furious article she wrote for The #Atlantic about the state of healthcare for estrogen dominant/ people with uterus. I saw myself in some of the many good and important points she made about how testing on a wider variety of people needs to be standard, a higher baseline of familiarity with anatomy and physiology needs to be standard. I got caught up however in her last paragraph where she almost couldn't help herself but make just this snide comment about how one of her primary sources uses #gender neutral language.

"But some of her choices can blur her focus. A confident assertion that sex isn’t “solely biological” might surprise scientists who understand sex to be determined by chromosomes and anatomy. This is also a peculiar position in a book devoted to the uniqueness of female biology. Genuinely not sure when I read this if she simply hadn't heard of trans men and non binary people, but a quick visit to her sub stack clarified things.
