Needless to say that the campaign of #TerryGou saw a telltale start when former KMT health minister #YaungChihLiang made some belittling remarks regarding #domesticviolence while fantasizing about beating up president #TsaiIngWen.
Absolutely no class in these remarks, this is the same brand of #toxicmasculinity that failed KMT candidate #HanKuoYu had plenty of as well. Deep blue and reactionary stuff that won't lead to any progress.

Gou does not honour promises.
Gou is deeply dependent of #China and the #CCP can blackmail him with plenty of leverage.
Gou has no track record when it comes to serving under the #ruleoflaw. He's used to old-school leadership, very much top-down.
Gou is #Taiwan's Trump and should not even get close to the Presidential residence.

And #HouYuih as the #KMT's official candidate advocating for smooth relations traditionally.

I never thought #TerryGou to be particularly trustworthy or bright, but his talk of starting another #SunflowerMovement by occupying the Legislative Yuan with some of his businessmen friends if the #DPP's proposed anti-infiltration laws go through goes to show that he's a clueless loudmouth and an ally of #China. The Sunflower Movement was grassroots and bottom-up, not a top-down showing of some rich guys. And it was against, not for China. #Taiwan

Wow, #goodnews coming from #Taiwan: #TerryGou, founder and boss of Hon Hai (that's the parent company of the sweatshop from hell known as #Foxconn...), will not be running for presidency come January 2020. Nor will #Taipei's mayor Ko Wen-je. In these times of ongoing hostility from #China, free and democratic Taiwan needs a leader that takes a stand against #Zhongnanhai's pressure. #StandupforTaiwan

There's an awful lot of Trump in #TerryGou: A self-declared successful businessman who wants to hijack the conservative party (the #KMT in this particular case) to run for president. And whose activities and investments restrict his freedom to act in the interest of the nation of #Taiwan and its #freedom. It would be a tragedy if his run for office were to be successful.

Seen his deep business interests in #China (FoxConn aka Hon Hai, anyone?), #TerryGou would be a Manchurian candidate for the #presidency in #Taiwan: It's way too easy for #Beijing to use Gou's investments in China as a leverage to force him to comply with #CCP's demands. My bottom line: Gou is bad news for Taiwan's #democracy and de-facto #independence.
