These criticisms all miss the point, assuming that this vehicle was designed for drivers to use to ship actual goods instead of investors to view and throw money at.

I suspect this design is quite good at that.

Catching up on the Tesla Semi and honestly, it's crazy how they pack so much power into a motor that size. I look forward to this truck being introduced as an option one day in American/Euro Truck Simulator.

That said, I panic hard enough about missing the occasional fuel station and suddenly realising I should have pumped before entering the highway. What's that panic going to be like when the nearest supercharger is 600+km away? 🥲

#Tesla #TeslaSemi has one axle geared low as an “acceleration unit” and another axle geared high for efficiency as a “highway unit”. I could see something like this being used in dual motor #EV cars. Put an acceleration unit up front for traction control, torque vectoring, and getting up to speed. But then disengage and let the car cruise on the highway with a much more efficient rear motor.
