Thanks, .org, I'm sure it is totally safe to click on:

https : // d2zyFj04. na1 .hubspotlinks .com

That doesn't look exactly like the URL in spam emails at all!

I hope I don't need to add sarcasm tags here.

Why do orgs sending emails to legit signed up members still want to track? You can get hit data from your server, can't you?

Or am I missing something actually important?

(spaces added to prevent the url being automagically linkified.)

5. These services will likely save a lot of teachers a lot of time.

6. They *might* result in some improvement in learning outcomes for students.

If I were starting a PhD program today, I would research number 6.

3. Those companies are all probably using or similar on the back end to generate the content. Their added value is turning the generated content into documents, slides, polls, etc.

4. Yes, at the moment a lot of content is not great. Factual content cannot be trusted. Narrative content is often bland / generic / boring.

But, it should be safe to assume the generated content will get better.

I am NOT an AI expert, so of course I have some opinions ...

1. and similar Large Language Models are NOT AGI (artificial general intelligence). Not even close.

2. The ARE content creation tools. To the extent that you need to create content, they can be useful. Many companies now offer content creation services to educators. The list includes, but is not limited to, lesson plans; class slides; assessments; summaries; and modified and translated readings.

There should be more programs to help USA experience living in another language and culture. Not only would many have a much better idea of what experience, but the teachers would also hopefully be better able to explain the importance of knowing / respecting more languages and cultures to the monolingual, monocultural students.

I can dream, right?

I’m proud to be a contributor to this collaboration between Microsoft EDU and TESOL on using MS Learning Accelerators with MLLs 🔥🔥🔥

The Learning Accelerators have a lot of very cool ways for students to build on their language skills - absolutely worth checking out:

Have to study more for test tomorrow.

Over 220 vocabulary words in about 5 weeks, plus grammar, verb conjugations, etc.

That's about 44 words per week. Sounds like a lot (and it is), but many / students get that many vocabulary words every day or two, many of them academic words. Plus, you know, the grammar stuff as well.

Many USA content need more training.

Or, they could join the class I'm in. Get the experience.

Do you know what the differences are between a reflexive pronoun and an intensive pronoun?

Are you unsure what they even are? Watch this video to find out!

Another new "open" textbook that is only available as a file.

Pretty sure CC-BY-NC-4.0 frowns on that.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that more and more textbooks are being made available under CC-style licenses. "Available" by itself, however, is not truly open.

Imagine if git[hub|lab] sites only had binary blobs, and you had to email maintainers individually to get access to source code.
