Who remembers the test card girl?

Found myself recalling the palaver we went through when we got our first telly - my dad on the roof fiddling with the aerial while we watched ‘snow’ on the screen.

Then I remembered how, even when it was tuned in, we’d often turn it on only to see the test card - the girl with the weird doll & the blackboard showing a half played game of noughts & crosses.
