@factolvictor All hail Queen Korinthia! I helped to make the international version possible. I think the setting and the atmosphere are the strong side of #Symbaroum, a mashup of #PrincessMononoke and #GameofThrones. The system has some challenges (zero to hero).
I don’t know much about #TrophyDark but I strongly disagree with @HeyeBodo comparison.
Treasure hunting in the #Davokar is not even a half of the game, it‘s closer to #WFRP #TEW (etc.) It’s no indie #ttrpg. For the #IronPact! Enjoy.

@rivetgeek @peter I think this is a pretty good definition of railroading. In my experience, it's pretty hard to get the group back on the #TEW track if they don't follow the breadcrumbs and/or ask the wrong questions. (like: Do we "freaks" with very limited resources really want to challenge conspiracy x? No, is a valid option... )
If they answer yes, they have to follow the "prompts" again. In my opinion, this is railroading - and I'm fine with it - the adventure!

@peter No offense, #ttrpg is not a novel / movie! For many fans there‘s no defined storyline and/or plot. A #ttrpg is collaborative storytelling (often) based on a collection of problems (in a more or less developed environment).
Back to #TEW: The „story“ can easily broken by the players if they ignore some „offers“ by the GM.

#TheEnemyWithin (#WFRP) is one of my absolute favorite campaigns to buy! In my opinion, it is based on the often criticized concept on #railroading. From (my) experience, players have to engage with certain elements to make the story work, but in return they get a great adventure. I think that's more than fine. A „good“, constructive group, GM + players, work together for a successful game experience anyway! Therefore I have in principle no problem with #railroading.

@HeyeBodo #Warlock is pretty high on my playlist. Honestly, I consider it for my replay of the #TheEnemyWithin / #TEW for similar reasons. I really like most of the stuff of #Cubicle7, I don't know why #WFRP4e feels often so unnecessary clunky. I clearly prefer #WFRP2e or maybe Warlock.
On the other hand, you and your player must masochist to play #ADnD2E. 😜
#LevelDrain is pretty great though.

Ich finde, #WFRP bzw. die #OLDWORLD (#TEW) manipuliert in seinen starken Momenten den Kampf zwischen "Gut" und "Böse" bzw. zwischen "Ordnung" und "Chaos".

Wenn die Spielrunde z. B. alles in Murderhobo-Manier killt, entgeht ihnen ggf. etwas.

Da #Symbaroum sich tonal bei der #OldWorld bedient, könnte zumindest das Setting passen, wobei #TEW auch mit Ironie spielt. Damals in den 80ern, als die Fanstasy- Rollenspielwelt noch zumeist durch Kavernen kroch, war es ein #Gamechanger. Hoffe, Nachfolgende mögens auch?! ENJOY!

@the_pulp_hero D'accord! Auch wenn #Tew nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäß ist.
Ich hab kein Problem mit gutem Railroading und die Neuauflage lohnt sich alleine für die Grognard - Tipps und die Liebe, die in diese Bücher flossen.
Freue mich, dass das auch andere in der gefühlten Monokultur entdecken und schätzen. Viel Spaß damit.

@n8flug @the_pulp_hero Darf ich fragen, was Du von der Übersetzung hältst? Waldems ist da nicht so ganz problemfrei. Es wäre ein Warhammer, wenn die ganze Kampagne übersetzt würde. Alle reden über #Ravenloft (das Original bitte) oder #CoC-Sachen, wie #Masksof….
Ich hatte am meisten Spaß mit #TEW trotz #TPK und unfinished business. Mir ist #WFRP4e mechanisch zu überfrachtet, aber die Bücher von C7 sind ziemmmmmlich toll. Sie machten auch „das beste“ #CoC-Material…

@GoblinQuester @deinol Similar over here, I played some #WFRP4e.
I think it‘s unnecessary clunky but not bad. I think #WFRP2e is the best version so far.
In my experience #TEW was never perfect, the core books (1-3) are/were pretty good compared to the competition of that time. Production-wise the new edition is great.
I especially like the grognard(?) tips by @GraemeDavis. himself. Time will tell how well the new 2 parts (4-5) will work for this generation of #OldWorld fans. Good luck, enjoy.

@neverless @HeyeBodo If you manage to keep the group together, keep motivation high, and hit the #OldWorld tone together, then I'm honestly a little envious of that first experience, it's one of my favorite campaigns. I will never forget the gestures of our GM when we arrived in x, for example. There are so many great details. After #TEW we wanted more of this gaming style, we never got back into dungeons and the traditional game loop (kill> loot> level up> repeat).

@neverless @HeyeBodo Interesting description of the #OldWorld. We played and died on the Reik (#TPK), back in the day (#WFRP1e). Good luck with the 4e! In my experience (and compared to older editions) I think this edition is a bit too fiddly / crunchy for me. While #Warlock (#BOSR) appears to be neat, I would try to use #WFRP2e, among other things I like the „magic risk management“. The new #TEW is different, the books are beautiful. The original campaign 1-3 were game changers (for us)! ENJOY!
