Having an angry evening. Hopefully, posting a nice Kea picture will help me regain some equanimity.

If ever there was a bird that would steal your camera and fly it to the top of a mountain just to leave it there...this would be the one!

The road from Lake Tekapo up to Lake Alexandrina, in the Mackenzie Basin, South Canterbury.

It's a post-glacial landscape, with moraine scatters, and glacial scars on the distant ridges.

Mountains...Aotearoa-New Zealand's Alps from different angles.

The South Island has a rocky, dramatic spine running down its length, thanks to the collision of two tectonic plates.

Lovely to look at, but with hidden dangers under the surface, thanks to the numerous fault lines running along & across its flanks.
