My heart absolutely breaks at the amount of litter and plastics on the beach. You hear and watch all the news reports, but seeing it for yourself really opens your eyes. This planet is in big trouble, and it just breaks my heart.

On our way back to Houston from Corpus we drove along the coast line for a bit taking some time to see off-the-beaten-path things we could come across. Here are three photos from being off the freeways.

1 ) Sailboats at a marina in Rockport, Tx

This photo turned out pretty neat.

Several years ago I came across an app that simulates medium and large format cameras. It also has a “darkroom” feature that has some neat features to it as well.

I used it take the sailboat photo. All i did to this one was increase the contrast filter.

2 ) Seagull and the ornithologist
The second photo was also in Rockport. We came upon this historical marker by happenstance. And the seagull was a wonderful bit of luck to pair to the info from the marker we just happened to stumble upon.

3 ) Little Bay, near Fulton, Tx
Last one was just up the road in Fulton, Tx. We were driving on a road that skirted the coastline and at one spot we stopped on a small gravel turnaround. The water was a little choppy so it created this wonderful splash on the broken concrete barrier.

Thanks for reading if you’ve gotten this far! 😊
