I've been using #TextExpander for more than a decade now, but in recent years I find it more and more difficult to justify my usage and subscription of the app.

The macOS app stops working regularly and shows a non hideable window every time I restart my Mac.

The iOS app and it's keyboard is unusable and unreliable. It's only reason to be installed is the support by third-party apps like Drafts.

In short, is there any recommendable alternative, which syncs snippets between macOS and iOS?

I know #Obsidian has templates but I love that markdown works from #TextExpander snippets - just easier for me and I now have a lovely monthly report template I can connect to all the things I have in #Obsidian to create a nice interlinked record of my work (inspired by @jasondowns daily note with links)

so I'm looking for a text expander replacement where I can create templets via scripts with list boxes for students names, feedback fields ;I fill out,etc. then insert them anywhere I want whether it be in an email or word etc with a key stroke. I looked but none seem to be both good, cross platform and under $50. I would want this on iOs, windows and mac as I'm getting tired of subscvription to #TextExpander.

One tiny little step towards the fruit world.
