I’m spinning black and dark grey wool for a dark fabric. Although I do like to dye, I find it a challenge to use the original colours of the wool. Which is the colour of the sheep. And because all different breeds of sheep have their particular colours, I collect wool from different breeds. In this series of blacks you’ll find the black lambswool of the Åsensheep (my own), the brown spots of the Jakobssheep and the soft grey of the Icelandic sheep.

I have this jacket with these odd little buttons that are just balls of string, but one of them is broken. it's too soft and it's coming apart and you can't push it through the loop at all. how do you repair something like that?

google is no help because i can't even find anything about this type of button in the first place

@fiberarts A piece I created in 2022 using linen and goat skin vellum called 'Stigmata' inspired by #medieval manuscripts which were mended/decorated with coloured thread to close naturally occurring holes in the parchment.
The text is taken from the hymn 'Soul of my saviour' and was all hand embroidered from my hand made #calligraphy template. I would love to do a series of these for exhibition.

I'm embroidering a skirt to look like rain! I'm using 4 stitches to accomplish that: chain, heavy chain, french knot, and Palestrina. The whole skirt front panel will look like a starburst coming off this half circle. It's going to take significant time, but I'm so here for it.
