Does someone have an idea about how to bypass Google Play activation check on latest #Textra versions (above 4.57) ? Any outside-PlayStore install ends on a force closure.

I completely left #whatsapp as soon as I found #SignalApp but I wish I could convince more of my friends to be on it. I just text them using #Textra (knowing it's insecure).
Just finished reading the book "Permanent Record" (twice). I guess I don't need to say more.

Years ago I tried out #textra (pro version). Just for the sake of not using the boring stock app at the time. The app worked well and looked pretty nice. Switched to #signalapp later for various reasons and was quite happy with it, especially as far as security is concerned.

With #signal removing #SMS support I turned to textra again. Their privacy policy is surprisingly short and clear: https://www.textra.me/privacyapp.html. Nothing collected, nothing stored outside your phone as it seems.

I love #signalapp Started using it and left #whatsapp a few years ago. Why do I always do different?
Now that they've stopped #SMS support (which I totally get, actually) I also use #Textra .
