Happy to say that our paper reporting place cells (!) and other interesting (albeit less surprising) things in ventral anterior is now out in . Thanks to a fun collaboration with Eleonora Lomi and Anna Mitchell doi.org/10.1016/j.isci.2023.10

The problem with consciousness research is that we have Paleolithic emotions, medieval theories, and god-like technology (to paraphrase E.O. Wilson)

Let's use the data provided by this technology to develop new theories of consciousness. Our attempt:

My group investigates and defines cell types and neural circuits of the , , and that contribute to spatial processes.
These processes break down in 's disease. To understand the causes/triggers of , we study early-stage in the human and in mouse models.

I previously defined various types of retinal ganglion cells using ex vivo recordings during my PhD in , before moving to to work on of the , followed by the . My favourite technique is in vivo recordings and labelling as it enables identification of single based on their firing patterns, terminal distribution, and profile.

As an , my expertise is primarily in vivo and . I am also interested in , the origins of , and regulation of activity and by .

👋

Hi all - I'm a neurology registrar and researcher at UCL.

I am researching how and why transient symptoms, such as visual hallucinations and cognitive fluctuations happen in Lewy body disease. Using 7T and 3T MRI and linking imaging changes to gene/neurotransmitter receptors.

Really interested in all aspects of Lewy body disease, cognitive neuroscience, , and .

Also interested in coding, games and literature!

Looking forward to meeting you.
