New studio painting based on a plein air study I did last year. The view evoked the woodcut 'Sudden Shower over Shin-ลŒhashi Bridge' by Utagawa Hiroshige, prompting me to do this reimagined painting. Oil on on oil primed linen, 70 x 60 cm.

It was freezing this morning, painting the flooded Marsh Meadows in Henley. More of a sketch than anything, had to give it up as I got too cold. Oil on oil primed panel, 23 x 30 cm.

Instead of paying extra for the tourist boats along the Thames it's cheaper to take Thames Clipper services which give you the same spectacular views minus the cheesy canned voiceover guide.

We boarded at Bankside Pier (near Borough Market) and got off at North Greenwich O2. Use your oyster card or contactless payment card to pay; buying tickets is more expensive than using the touch in touch out system.
