And thanks, in significant part, to growing acceptance of cryptocurrency, which allows the payment to flow over national borders and makes these criminals impossible for US law enforcement to catch.

Many of these attacks come from Russia, bringing revenue into the country, evading sanctions, and, at least indirectly, adding some funds to Russia’s evil war on Ukraine
