Putting this out into the ether: the #thargoids are looking for the last Queen egg they have. That's why they've invaded. FDEV said they're looking for something and I reckon it's not a weapon.

The current queen is dying and they have no successor but they buried an egg eons ago for this eventuality. This is an all out assault to ensure the continuation of the species.

And sets up their return for any future game Frontier produces.

Well, I've gone back to #EliteDangerous after a long time away (I lost interest, for out-of-game reasons, shortly before Odyssey came out - ventured back to try it briefly and couldn't make progress so lost interest again).

Now playing sans joysticks as both have failed. Steering ships with keys is less fun. But I was never into space combat so hoping I can make a living mostly on the ground.

Sorry to see even more emphasis on #Thargoids. Bleah. But as long as they keep all that Over There...

There's this heavy implication that next week's update is going to fundamentally change the game + universe, which is kind of exciting. Even if I haven't really been following the story around the #Thargoids that closely, it sounds like I'm going to have to learn. 😋

I should probably finish grinding Imperial rep for the option of a Cutter, too, at some point. Maybe my emergency station evacuation Orca will see some use again for that.
