E4 on capitalism is fantastic. In the case of the Bessemer, AL Amazon Warehouse, @nhannahjones
draws the arc from stealing native lands through cotton plantations through leased convict labor in mines to US Steel selling to Jeff Bezos who sabotaged unionization

And union organizers like Derrick Palmer & Jennifer Bates & Chris Smalls are superheroes

Following Bacon's Rebellion in 1676, where an alliance of white and Black indentured servants and enslaved Africans rose up against Virginia's white elite, the colony passed slave codes to permanently enshrine legal and social distinctions between Black and white residents that ensured that all white people, no matter their status, permanently existed in a status above all Black people.

Episode 2 of on clearly explains what "race" is and why everything in the is literally about and .

It also makes clear how and why have been placed at the bottom of our society even though they literally created much of the wealth of this nation by giving birth, and the heinous price they have and continue to pay with their bodies.

Reading enlightened, saddened, moved, and enraged me to a point where I had to stop after chapter 7, a point that took me a year to reach.

I hesitated to watch the series, The #1619 Project, a 6 part series that premiered the end of January, because I was afraid of how it would make me feel.

Having just watched episode 1, that concern was valid because it provoked all the same visceral responses in me as the book.

"Just move" white people say.

Fuck you, I say. Fuck you.
