#Anchor graveyard behind the marina office. Left behind by boaters upgrading to newer designs. Presumably awaiting recycling.
Anchors are more than just scrap steel, many models have some lead filling inside that needs to be melted out, which makes them valuable, but more difficult to recycle.

Cleaning and pickling the #watermaker - first flushing through with an alkaline cleaning solution that removes organic deposits, then with an acidic solution that removes calcium deposits and remains in the system, "pickling" it to prevent any growth while it sits in hot weather for a few months.

Took a break from the cursed engine to finally install the drip tray platform for the refleks heater. It had been sat on a piece of sooty, diesel-soaked wood obstructing removal of the cabin sole to access the bilge (where there is a through-hull for the log!). Much better now. Stainless steel South Indian thali plate and scrap square tubes…
Bilge alarm had a non-rechargeable battery, which is pretty much a crime in my book. So now it's got a rechargeable, replaceable one instead.
Also moved it to a better location (higher up) and extended the sensor cable.

There's hardly that goes by on a boat when you're not doing some sort of shelving project..
#theBoatyard
Nuts came off easily enough with a socket wrench… So too most of the hoses held on with what the British amusingly call “Jubilee Clips”. Surprised myself by dumping a few litres of water into the bilge but yeah, of course it’s full of water. The heat exchanger itself seems to be stuck fast. I wonder what kind of persuasion it wants… Cheap chisel on the gaskets? #theBoatyard
Finished installing a 12V DC car adapter socket for charging my laptop :>.
Well. That’s a problem. Certainly explains the exhaust in the boat. I guess I get to remove the heat exchanger now and see if this can be repaired…
Can I sail this 7 ton beast with no engine? People do that sort of thing… Need to get the rig up…
Took off every MC4 solar connector aboard, we're tired of them breaking and leaking. We'll try just using simple marine butt-connectors.
#theBoatyard
Replaced half of our solar wiring today(first installed in 2016), will replace other half tomorrow. MC4 connectors... *giant sigh* aren't waterproof. It's ALL bad.
Honestly, electricity on boats is kind of ridiculous :angry_laugh:

Found a promising new owner for Songbird, survey and sea trial went well.
We now have about three weeks time to gather our things and move out before the sale completes! 🚚
Sad and happy both. 😔 😄 😔 😄

Looking at the Boat Projects section on 100r.co, it is crazy to see how many changes we've done to Pino over the years... and despite all that, there is still a lot we haven't yet touched.
#finishit -ed the bathroom cabinet! You can see the recycled bamboo cutting board turned shelf.

The sun is out and for the first time this year you can feel it.
First coat of antifouling paint on top of the primer from the other day.
The colour scheme is “someone selling tins of expensive antifouling for half price because they were slightly dented” vivid Norwegian red and battleship grey .
Finally got a little knob for the rheostat that controls how many amps our engine's alternator gets to pump into our batteries :>. For now, I put little stickers so we know what the minimum(off, no charge) and max points are.
Eventually, we'll put markings on the wood to indicate the charging strength for each 'position'.
We tripled our battery capacity, this morning, replacing a 13-year-old 68Ah unit with two new 95Ah 'deep cycle' units.
We are saving up for a couple of 100W solar panels so we no longer have to rely on a 25-year-old diesel to recharge the batteries.
