"Ultimately, we should not ask what the meaning of life is, but rather we must recognize that it is us who are being asked. Each of us are questioned by life; and we can only answer to life by answering for our own lives; to life we can only respond by being responsible.” - Viktor Frankl

Insomnia and closing open tabs. In #theLibrary, I just read https://decomposition.al/blog/2023/04/08/who-invented-vector-clocks/ which was a fascinating deep dive by the wonderful @lindsey
Finished my transcription of Finite and Infinite Games recently, I've enjoyed a lot of its poetic metatheory about everything.
Also, I wrote some critical marginalia: http://wreckage.duckdns.org/finite-and-infinite-games-reflection.html
I just finished reading Emma Goldman - Anarchism and other essays.
"If we stop being able to dream, we die!"
The next book to read is Electronic Civil Disobedience and Other Unpopular Ideas by Critical Art Ensemble.
Audiobooks. Have listened to the Three Body trilogy. Currently listening to Second Life of Uwe. Next in queue: Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote, and the Moomin stories.
Can't help the fact that Snufkin looks unbelievably cool. So triangular.
Starting this tonight. Looking forward to it.

Been chewing through Bram Stoker's Dracula but it feels more like Whatadragula... #theLibrary
Finished listening to the Three Body trilogy. Good.
I finished reading Solaris 🤯. Really enjoyed how much this little book packed. Is it even SF? It reads like a psychological thriller. Lots of intense emotions in the book...
Rereading James Hilton's *Lost Horizon* for the umpteenth time. I love it so much. #theLibrary
If you write stories of any kind I highly recommend "A Swim in a Pond in the Rain
In Which Four Russians Give a Master Class on Writing, Reading, and Life"
By George Saunders
I am going thru all Koji Suzuki’s Ring books this month. What a ride. #theLibrary
Just finished Ocean Vuong's glorious novel, “On Earth we're briefly gorgeous", and what can I say. I wish I had such a command of any language at all, I wish I could conjure emotions out of words with such mastery. I wish I could express what the immigrant experience feels like with such poignant clarity. I'm impressed, jealous in a good way, and eagerly recommend it to anyone.
Six stars out of five.

Predictably, I relate to this mad, bankrupt gambler, adventurer and unseamanly sailor: the late Lorenzo Ricciardi, ex-husband of legendary Italian documentary photographer, Mirella Ricciardi and author of The Voyage Of The Mir El Lah (1981).
@ritualdust Have you read Electric Eden: Unearthing Britain's Visionary Music, a 2011 book by Rob Young? It might be relevant.
