a few months after watkins glen, #TheBand apparently prepared a live album called “is everybody wet?”, whose tracklist matches the fake watkins glen album they released in the ‘90s. i suspect they faked it in the ‘70s, shelved it, then somebody rediscovered it in the ‘90s & had no idea it wasn’t real. a dry (or very not-dry) run for the faked basement tapes. incredible research & details by @dagb: https://theband.hiof.no/history/The_Band_in_1972-73.pdf /4

I was not surprised to learn he worked with #BobDylan, but I was surprised to learn he worked with #GilEvans and the legendary #WillieDixon. The average person just has no idea what a major historical figure Willie Dixon is. As a teen we always played #TheBand on the juke box in coffee shops. This was before Starbucks, no one was there. A different age. Yes, I'm #GenX.
