I also recently finished reading The Battle Drum by Saara El-Arifi. I was a bit worried I wouldn’t get into this sequel but I shouldn’t have been - it’s even more readable than the first book and I raced through much faster than expected. It’s really great, expanding the world exponentially, and throwing real new strife at the characters. I can’t wait for the next part.
