Pepperpot corner turret on the Briggait in Glasgow. Designed by Clarke and Bell and constructed in 1873, this market building incorporates the older Merchant's Steeple, which was part of the original Glasgow Guild's hall and dates from 1665.

The elaborate cast-iron interior of the main Clydeside Market Hall in the Briggait in Glasgow. Designed by Clarke and Bell, it was originally built in 1873 as a fish market. It finally closed in the 1970s.

The Briggait and the Merchant's Steeple at sunset on Sunday.
While the Briggait is relatively new (only having been built in the 1870s), the steeple is much older. It was built in the 1660s as part of the long-gone Merchant's House.
