In 1990, I landed in the Mission. The 500 Club was my local and the song was a standard on the juke.
"I'm gonna kick tomorrow" was relevant to the culture in the Mission then. The City's major heroin market was at 16th @ Mission and meth was ascendant and sold everywhere. I know. That was then.
