“I knight you… SIR Mary Ann…

All right, get up, get up!!

Oh, and leave off THAT!”

The cottage behind is a facade I made out of foamcore board, cheap foam backsplash I repainted, cardboard, and some tiki hut thatching.

The figures are custom based on characters in my “The Curious Case of Mary Ann”/“The Trouble with Tweedle” Wonderland mystery novels.

The Red Queen, Rosamund, finally got her dress and robes today! I love them so much with her crown— it’s just what I was hoping it would look like. I added the checkerboard ribbon, to bring in a little extra Looking-Glass feel. Very regal, no?

She misplaced her scepter in my book “The Trouble with Tweedle” and grabbed the nearest similar item- the flyswatter in her hand now.

I had this idea, upon seeing aquarium plants, that they would work AMAZINGLY as non-talking flora for my book characters’ version of Wonderland. So I whipped together this little scene for my figures of Mary Ann and Rufus.

I didn’t realize the mushrooms I ordered would only stand up in water, though. So someone (yours truly) is going to have to make new stems for them.

But… look how colorful and happy!! #

My characters Mary Ann and Rufus wanted to honor Lewis Carroll, author of “Alice in Wonderland,” and “Through the Looking-Glass” on this day, his birthday.

Carroll (real name Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) was born on this date in 1832. And my “Curious Case of Mary Ann” series wouldn’t have existed without him!
