#YouTube's search (on #Roku especially) has gone completely fucked. Doesn't even autocomplete anymore, barely finds anything.
I was looking up a let's player i watch to help me sleep sometimes. (Klatremus, plays #ThiefTheDarkProject #ThiefMetalAge and #TheDarkMod, usually "supreme ghost" rules, check him out!)
Anyway, he wasn't showing up and I had this panic moment like "I need to download all his videos and put them on DVD! What will I do when they vanish one day!?"

Whoa. I was wondering why the TDM upgrade from 2.10 to 2.11 seemed to screw up my controls. Up till now, I've been using AntiMicroX with my controller to play, but apparently they introduced native gamepad support. Interesting! I'll have to give it a shot.
And the builder didst say to the thief: "Thou shalt not touch mine valuables, now halt! Tis be hammering time!"
In-game lore entry: "[Saint] died when he choked on a turkey leg during a ceremonial feast."
Protagonist: "And THAT is why you should always. Eat. SLOWLY."

@vencabot if you like #thief, try #thedarkmod, a free remake of thief that is still actively developed:
https://www.thedarkmod.com/
I was trying to install The Dark Mod https://www.thedarkmod.com/main/ on my Steam Deck and kept getting some weird error from the installer.
Going to have to hook up a keyboard/mouse for this so the on-screen keyboard and touchpads don't drive me nuts.
#TheDarkMod is so good! But it's also like, an intimidating amount of Thief! Stealing my free time is what it be doing!

#TheDarkMod's lockpicking requires me to listen to sound? No visual cues whatsoever? That might be a deal breaker.
I competely forgot this quote was here.
"Piety is a little like urination. It's necessary, but people disapprove if you do it at the wrong time and place."
When youre playing a mission about stealing valuables from a corrupt church, and then this plays, and you can't help but stop and listen.
Not that I've actually fought anything (yet - I haven't finished). But you can't fight pure dread in your gut with mere video game weapons.
I have nopequit out of this mission twice now, it is just that *creepy* without even throwing enemies at you.
So, if a Thief game or Dark Mod mission gives you holy water or fire arrows, that's normally never a good sign.
But nothing... nothing could have prepared me for Blackgrove Manor.
When the game gives you holy water, that's never a good sign.
So uh, I was just kinda exploring, and I randomly found the guy I'm supposed to "take care of" before even making it to the mansion. Fun!
Oh god, I thought this was mostly a rooftops map. No, there's streets and sewers too. Holy shit.
Wow, this map is huge. AND it shows you where you are. The latter is a first for a TDM mission, I think. At least among the ones I've played so far.
Yesterday I played Full Moon Fever (admittedly because the title caught my eye).
Moral of the story: If you find a suspicious rat living in a centuries-old cursed underground crypt, do NOT keep it as a pet.
You know a mission is A Big Deal when it has a decent introduction cutscene with voice acting.
Today I'll be playing The Painter's Wife.
