@caseyliss @film_girl it’s regressive to blame your curation of your timeline for the average human on social media. Speaking for myself, I’ve adopted new practices on #thedon to ensure I am not part of the problem.

1. Negative replies can be typed but stay as drafts until next visit to Ivory. 90% never see the light of day.
2. Boosts are only used to share positive, non-political, and knowledge-based toots.
3. If accidentally engaged with toxicity. Reply is “thank you for giving me a new perspective I hadn’t considered.”

Becoming very comfortable here on #TheDon. I have learned to choose what I want to follow. Hence, I'm more certain in my choices. I am not bombarded by an #algorithm trying to tempt me into what its masters would have me read. And unlike #twitter, there's no machine trying to get past my boundaries to trigger my fight/flight responses. The good old sales technique of triggering #anxiety and then offering a product to salve it ain't working on this here #mastodon. Long live the #fediverse!
