Looking back at this song I wrote when I was 18. At first, it sounds like it might be a song about a breakup...and I did tell people that's what it was about, because I didn't know how else to explain it. In reality, it's a song about the disconnection I felt from my childhood self, and how it was almost like she abandoned me. It was like I betrayed myself, and it was painful and confusing. I wouldn't find her again until years later.
