The reason I looked up wave measurements is I was showing @elfin a video from #TheEddie where all the surfers rolled off their boards as this huge wave came along. Something I've never seen before and neither had Elf, and he's surfed.

Anyway, The Eddie is named after Eddie Aikau who was a #surfer and the 1st lifeguard of #Waimea & the entire #NorthShore, who had saved over 500 lives braving 30' waves that nobody else would go out in. Eddie Would Go™
