Very personal movie for Spielberg who blends a love letter to his craft with a touching family portrait.
Not particularly narrative, bound more by its theme than its plot. But every sequence has its moment of grace.

In Jewish stories? Casting actors in Jewface. It’s standard practice, and it sucks.

The three #jewish cast members played brief and stereotypical parts but the leads were played by miscast #gentiles AND YET I love #MichelleWilliams more than ever; Glad to see you #TonyKushner; A mere moment of #JeannieBerlin and I’m on air; It’s #Spielberg - longer than it needs to be, overstuffed, more beautiful than life itself, very affecting, emotionally resonant and constructed like a masterwork.
