Here’s a review by someone else of #TheGenealogist which touches on some of my concerns too. Eg no easy to find card catalogue type listing of all the records they have. And poor source citations. Also for Scottish me the Scottish content is relatively poor. https://genealogystories.co.uk/review-of-the-genealogist/ #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Signed up for a two week trial of #TheGenealogist (UK #genealogy focused) website, keen to check some tithe records, but also keen to try the site from a general genealogy search perspective. Sadly I found it very unintuitive to use. Often googling and coming in externally to site that way was more help. It is also relatively poor for Scottish records. My favourite general genealogy website (not counting #ScotlandsPeople which is best for me) is #Ancestry. Find it most intuitive. #FamilyHistory

Trying to take out a free trial to The Genealogist website, to check the tithe maps for Winfarthing which include my husband’s farming ancestors. And not impressed with the site when the credit card authentication repeatedly fails in multiple ways. And then to confound it I find in the settings that the website assumed my gender is male. Not enchanted! #Genealogy #FamilyHistory #Norfolk #TitheMaps #Gender #TheGenealogist
