Environmentalists condemn Australia’s ‘woeful record’ after 48 plants and animals added to threatened species list

“This many species being added to the list in one go is a sign of widespread ecological collapse,” Tim Beshara of the Wilderness Society.

“Australia has a woeful track record when it comes to protecting our unique animals and plants. We are a world leader in sending mammals to extinction – and it is mostly because we keep allowing their homes to be bulldozed, logged and overrun,” Nature campaigner Jess Abrahams

International botanists 'so shocked' after tour of the Great Koala National Park
The future Great Koala National Park has been toured by the world's leading botanists, and they are concerned.

The experts are in the region for an International vegetation conference, but ahead of the event they spent days walking through local state forests.

Professor Helge Bruelheide, Professor of Geobotany at the University of Halle in Germany said logging should 'stop immediately'.

Monopolising and overusing residential roads for the purpose of industrial extraction.

For over half a year they made a highway out of the scenic Gleniffer Road so that the forest ' stuff' can be extracted and monetised before all that 'bush' is possibly declared a Koala National Park.

When Gleniffer Road was closed and traffic went along Roses Rd., the steep and bendy road was smashed into bits by overuse in the last seven month.

Almost on a daily basis various fossil fuel trucks and machinery patch the damage with small fossil fuel 'bandages' and widen the shoulders so that they can accommodate the machinery of (forest) destruction.
