Having read the trilogy of the books, I was hoping (and expecting, tbh) the final episode of His Dark Materials would do it justice, and indeed it slayed me. Yes I sobbed, but Pullman knew what he was doing and it's the ultimate sacrifice. Anyway, I've often posted this 3 minute video of him explaining what Dust is and I'm happy to post it again
