"Pressure Drop" is a song recorded in 1969 by for record producer . The song appears on their 1970 album Monkey Man (released in Jamaica by ) and From the Roots (released in the UK by ). "Pressure Drop" helped launch the band's career outside Jamaica when the song was featured on the soundtrack to the 1972 film , which introduced to much of the world. In 2004.

Fifty years ago, Jamaican music legend Jimmy Cliff starred in the cult classic film, The Harder They Come. It was a critical success (the Guardian recently gave it five stars). But the soundtrack was something else, featuring some of reggae's premier artists of the time. The world fell in love with reggae and the stage was set for Bob Marley's global emergence with 1973's blazing Catch a Fire.
