His name is on the top of every eastbound Milwaukee Hop streetcar and his statue stands in Burns Commons' southern triangle. Born on January 25, 1759, the National Poet of Scotland, Robert Burns was the author of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ and many other poems. Burns Day and Night is observed across Scotland and in Scottish communities each January 25th.
