Still thinking about #TheHours at the Met, still getting choked up every time I listen to this clip from the final trio. It felt so right this moment, somehow. "Here is the world, and you live in it, and you try to be, and you try."

Now that I have recovered, I will say that #TheHours contains beautiful new music and was superbly performed. It was also terribly depressing and was an unwelcome experience.

We saw #TheHours at the #MetOpera this afternoon, and it was also broadcast live as part of the Met’s #LiveInHD series. It was a lovely and very moving #NewProduction, and both the singing and the music were beautiful. Happy that the show went on notwithstanding the recent hacking of the Met’s computer systems. Saw 'The Hours' at the Met on Friday, and would highly recommend anyone sees it (in person, or during the worldwide broadcast on 10th December).

A really interesting, layered production (soloists, chorus, dancers, multiple set-pieces, projection, props, often simultaneously used) that won't be for everyone, but I loved it. The Met Opera youtube channel has lots of short clips which give a feel for the soundworld but do a disservice to the 'flow' of the entirety.
