@nmcspadden I adore #NKJemisin's Inheritance Trilogy (#TheHundredThousandKingdoms is book 1, since no one seems to use the series name), & read #TheFifthSeason day one. It was absolutely a masterpiece on a technical level, & I appreciated a lot about it, but it really just didn't hit me right at the time. I think maybe it was just so different from the trilogy her read previously. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe its time to give it another try, & audiobook could be a way to shake my past perceptions out of my head!
