La cubierta está inspirada en una obra del pintor expresionista Erich Heckel (al igual que su gemelo “Héroes” de Bowie). Y su título, según cuenta la leyenda, en una novela de Dostoyevski que #IggyPop leyó una noche interminable tras la recomendación del Duque Blanco. Nos referimos a #theidiot el debut solista de la Iguana, publicado el 18 de marzo de 1977. Este trabajo, lo puso en un nuevo plano después de aquéllos bestiales años junto a los Stooges con una propuesta musical diferente que él definió como entre "James Brown y Kraftwerk".

Zulawski's manic energy has no comparison. The film is hard to follow since its dialog is totally nonsensical. But one grandiose, emotionally and physically bare, violent scenes after another, you get into the groove of things. You get to feel the film first, as you try to digest what it all means. Finished listening to that 2002 radio adaptation of "The Idiot." Absolutely smashed my heart into pieces, but my Gods it's extraordinarily beautiful and breathtakingly compassionate. I never stopped caring desperately about all the main characters, including the horrible ones. Really am going to have to read some Dostoevsky.
