Today marks the 24th anniversary of The Iron Giant, released #OTD after it premiered at Mann's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on July 31. Still one of the most beautiful, deep, emotional, and thought-provoking films in animation, and beyond.

Superbly animated and full of heart, “The Iron Giant” (1999) is arguably one of the best animated movies of all time. It’s one of my favorites and it never fails to get me a little teary-eyed. This figure by Diamond Select has light-up eyes and a very tiny removable Hogarth Hughes that you can perch on the Iron Giant’s shoulder. So happy I can finally add this to my collection.

I just learned today that director Brad Bird was inspired to make this film from his sister being killed by her husband due to gun violence.
The theme of the movie was 'what if a gun had feelings?'
