1) Novelizations. The novelization of #TheLastJedi was VERY good and I've heard great things about a lot of the others, but at the end of the day I know the stories of these movies. Makes it hard to pick up the book.
2) They tie in to the parks. I put off Black Spire for that reason and I feel basically the same about A Crash of Fate. Princess and the Scoundrel also feels egregious ESPECIALLY since Galactic Starcruiser isn't even open anymore.

Really fun read and made me think that #Lando should've been in #TheLastJedi and played a huge part in the Casino planet scene. It would've fit the character better than how he was used in the last film. Missed opportunity.

I know you think Empire is better than Jedi, that is because discourse has minimized how awful Fisher and Ford's performances were in the first act and amplified how bad Ewoks are. Don't get me wrong Empire ends on a strong note. But it never hits as hard as the opening of Jedi on Tatooine or the close on the Death Star.
