I finally had a chance to write about my visit to The Leaf, the newest attraction in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The conservatory features tropical and Mediterranean biomes and a butterfly garden. Rain crashes while I lie,
meek in my bed.
Synchronicity & sugar-plums
dance in my head.

The Gestalt and the Zeitgeist
tug gently my heart.
Archetypes and Icons,
must play their part.

Distracted mind - The Leaf,
carried on the wind.
Never knowing where it goes
Yet reading where it’s been.

Iconic - The poetic leaf
that travels poem to poem.
It flutters down
It rests a while
But never finds a home.

A metaphor of lost control,
A bastion of the meek.
A gentle, in a changing time,
of whom so many speak.

A poem about poetry, what’s more more meaningless than that.
And now I’ve spent that hour,
and I’ll never get it back.
