It begins. Yesterday spent hours cutting out the many layers of #TheLinenRidingHabit pieces, then flatlining and overlocking every piece with this thin brown cotton.
Today I basted down the interfacing canvas on the collar and lapel pieces and got started on the darts.
These darts at the front I know I will never adjust, and thus slashed & graded the seam allowance so I could steam and catch stitch them as flat as possible.
(Usually you should never grade darts, it tidily prevents you from making fit adjustments down the line!)

I have indeed, made the sleeve bigger. Comparison with the sleeve lining, which I will not enlarge!
I've done this before and they did teach us how to do this in dressmaking school and you can make a million mockups (I'm not going to) but you'll never truly know how it behaves in the final fabric... so I guess time will tell.
The shapes do give me *such* serotonin, tho

Me, making style adjustments to the sleeves of a pattern I've fitted previously, out loud: I AM GOING TO MAKE THEM BIGGER
