The musical episode of #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds (Subspace Rhapsody) is right up there with the musical episodes of #TheMagicians. Quality TV. As with The Magicians, I would be happy to see more of these.

Reading books completely stopped, at least since I started with #genealogy (research excluded), probably a lot already when still doing Wikipedia. Some days ago I started watching #NormalPeople and struggle with the Irish accent, but I love it, most of the times. Beide that, I watched #TheMagicians, which was a lot happier and a lot easier to understand (and had subtitles)

Watching the final episode of #TheMagicians and I'm shocked about this giant plot hole.

#TheMagicians waited a long ass time for great moments (season 3?) but the under pressure scene is baller. Also is Summer Bishil great? She seems to be great.

Re-watching The Magicians again, and once again struck by how much better it is than the books...
The TV series just does a much better job of representing Quentin as a guy struggling with depression, rather than just a whiny moan..

I'm reading A WIZARD OF EARTHSEA and struck by this passage:
"You thought, as a boy, that a mage is one who can do anything. So I thought, once. So did we all. And the truth is that as a man's real power grows and his knowledge widens, ever the way he can follow grows narrower: until at last he chooses nothing but does only and wholly what he must do."

This reminds me very strongly of the "law of inverse profundity" from THE MAGICIANS series.

With #Andor and #Kenobi, Disney spends a lot of camera time on antagonists, developing real characters of them whereas SyFy's #TheMagicians, for example, the villain is glimpsed only occasionally by incursions into the protagonists peace. In a #TTRPG, the latter is more traditional, but have you had any success, at your table, implementing the former? How often can we "cut to" the villain without the heroes getting bored? (eg without the GM puppeteering NPCs at one another).

Yeah, I’m not putting down #TheLastOfUs. #LongLongTime is a great episode of TV.

IMO, #ALifeInTheDay is a better treatment of a similar subject. What a great show #TheMagicians was.
