So far as I can tell The Maple does not have a mastodon account - #TheMaple and @TheMaple doesn't hit anything. @the gets the Tyee and the Guardian
The email I got from them is asking for *more* money (I am already a subscriber, of course). I think they might do better if they signed on here.
