Watched The Last Voyage of the Demeter yesterday in #cinema. A movie based on the chapter Captain's Log of Bram Stoker's #Dracula.

I was completely alone in the hall. Had some sleeping problems arfterwards. I started watching #horror movies in cinema this year with #TheMenu with Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes and this was really different from what I've seen yesterday.

Although, #TheLastVoyageoftheDemeter might not be the scariest movie this year.

One thing I didn't realize about #TheMenu is that the composer is the same person who did the music for Ari Aster's Hereditary. But once you hear it you can't unhear it. It's wonderful.

Also Elsa absolutely is the surprise star of this film, and the way she goes “these are tor-tee-ya” (tortillas) to the finance bros like she’s talking to children is just such a power move, love it. #TheMenu

Rewatching #TheMenu for the...third or fourth time? and I just love it so much. I love this movie, I'm pretty sure it's my favorite film of 2022. I'm sure I saw a couple others but none has left such a lingering impression on my brain.

This made me laugh way too hard and has been decades since I was a waitress. Those scars run deep y’all.

Just watched #TheMenu and I for one am unlikely ever to eat in a swanky restaurant in a relaxed manner ever again.... if you enjoyed Boiling Point, its like that but re-imagined by #EdgarAllanPoe - and what's more it clocks in at well under two hours - a brilliant evening's entertainment!

So I never got around to seeing #TheMenu - it is on my list, just slipped my mind. But I did start the newest season of #PartyDown and episode 2 has essentially a parody of @everywhereist’s aforementioned piece. Food can be cutting edge art that moves diners, but at the very least it has to be edible. Two relevant exchanges attached. The character is even told to throw it out and make something people would eat, but she just remakes it for *art* cc @freddytrannager

The next time I go out to eat at a nice restaurant, I'm going to try this:
