I also think their influence on the "Birmingham Sound" and hence heavy metal in general gets quite lost. Roy Wood was a master at creating bone-crunching bass heavy riffs. And then when Jeff Lynne joined they only got even more creative. Listen to the closing outro to this song, it's remarkable.
