Eventually, over time our #Ha practice transforms into a new #Ri practice that does not resemble our #Shu forms. We can depart entirely from the original forms with the experience of mastering the #shu forms and fully grokking the value intended from them.

Scrum teams and organizations often move past Shu (and sometimes Ha) to avoid what feels like extra work and constraints that makes #theoryofconstraints practice. Scrum is not designed to remove pain, but to make it obvious.

I once raised the idea of an #Unconference in an org, with a 250-strong dev team. The CTO squashed it based upon his view that the org needed outside expertise to fill knowledge gaps.
What he didn't realise is that the org already had the knowledge he was so keen to pay speakers thousands of pounds for, it was just unevenly distributed and they couldn't apply it because of systemic constraints.
In the end they spent 50k for negligible benefit.

My biggest trouble with advocating against #PullRequests and gating merges behind #CodeReview is that it is legimately effective for finding defects when done thoroughly. You get something valuable for the cost in review work, increased batch sizes, and multitasking. It makes it harder to convince myself and others that it's better to drop it for the sake of flow.

You can align on terminology (#ConceptMapping), capture conversations (#DialogMapping), identify and solve your problems (#TheoryOfConstraints), deliver benefits (#BenefitMapping) e.g. for projects, identify key actions for stakeholders (#ImpactMapping), analyse whole systems (#CausalLoopDiagrams). Why aren't more people using it? #StructuredVisualThinking
