I binge-watched #ThePatient with Steve Carrell and Domhnall Gleeson in the past two days, and while I really enjoyed watching this suspenseful psychology drama, I was disappointed by the conclusion. None of the characters got what they really deserved (but I guess life is unfair or something).

#ThePatient is a fascinating allegory on how MAGA/BREXIT haters have taken society hostage – and why attempts to educate or 'heal' them is destined to fail. Coz you can't heal haters who have no empathy. You can only lock them out and 'suspend their accounts' to prevent more harm.

The Patient se construit sur une idée originale : et si un tueur en série kidnappait son psychologue pour mener une thérapie intensive ? Dix épisodes intenses portés par deux excellents acteurs : je recommande chaudement !

OMG, #ThePatient on Disney+ (here in the Nordics, presumably other streaming services elsewhere) is really good. And it is so nice to know that this is a limited series. Some kind of closure will likely be reached in the finale, it won’t all be just a set-up for a sequel. (Looking at you, #Severance on Apple TV+.)

For those who've seen #ThePatient, I was surprised by the last episode but not in a good way. Did Steve Carrell only sign a one-year contract or something?

Although I enjoyed it overall and thought it was well written, I'm not sure I want to spend another season with just "Sam" plus whoever else they write in for him to play with.

Con esta premisa esperaba suspense, pero salvando un par de escenas con cierta tensión, es más bien un ejercicio de reflexión donde los protagonistas analizan qué es lo que están haciendo mal en sus vidas.
Aunque creo entender qué pretendía el director, lo cierto es que me ha dejado un poco fría. Correcta pero sin entusiasmo.
