It's so sad, so many people don't know Gustav Holst. The Planets is my favourite music suite ever created, nothing can beat it.

If you are into modern orchestral music, you should definitely go listen to it. My favourite recording of it, is the one played by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra in 1986.

I got to see the Philadelphia Orchestra perform Holst’s The Planets tonight, and it was a great way to unwind. I think this was my first time seeing it performed live, and one thing that stuck out was how the melody flits around the stage in “Mercury, the Winged Messenger.” Something you don’t quite get from listening with headphones!
