Hell of a paragraph from #ThePowerBroker. Also succinctly sums up my long term worry for most north American cities

I am finally closing in on the end of #ThePowerBroker and reading the harrowing tale of Robert Moses’ spiraling narcissistic breakdown as he makes a shitshow out of the New York World’s Fair in the early 60s is both uncomfortable and hilarious.

The man’s whole career and fall from grace is actually a really good lesson in how dictators rise to power, how they maintain power, and how they eventually create the conditions for their own collapse.
