@cautionarytale I think a major problem with modern comedy is that its focus is laughing *at* people, not making jokes entirely. Late night TV is usually the worst offender of this, but it's creeping into other content like #Velma as well

Interestingly, the "lets' laugh at people" method that mainstream comedy is beginning to adopt has always been a staple of right-wing commentary, a great example of this is #TheQuartering. But we don't pretend to be comedians. Leftists view laughing at people as something that is actually funny, while the right views it as a way to shame or bully someone or their behavior, in order to make some sort of moral point. I suspect a lot of this is because conservatism hasn't been mainstream for awhile, so we use our mediums to fight and push for our ideals, while the majority culture, which is left leaning, has no need to do so, so they can afford to chuckle nonchalantly and move on without following up with some sort of excoriation or admonishment

I don't think either outcome will stop the bleeding of the #TwitterExodus, because even if #ElonMusk, steps down, he'll still own the place, and whichever simp takes the #CEO gig will only do what they think will please the imperious imbecile, but of course I voted yes because it's awesome watching #TheQuartering melt down to a puddle.
