Young Bert White takes a delivery of white lead, from our #GraphicNovel of #TheRaggedTrouseredPhilanthropists. As an apprentice, Bert is unpaid and is supposed to be learning a trade, but the bosses mostly use him as a beast of burden.

Tressell’s famous book is a searing takedown of capitalism, written by a working class man about the life that he and his friends led c1910. The fact that it’s still frustratingly relevant says a lot about our political system.

I read the graphic novel adaptation of Robert Tressell's The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by @RickardSisters and loved it. What an introduction to a classic book I can't believe I haven't read before! The illustrations are beautiful and the adapted narrative captures the essence of the story.
